As January has wrapped up, we’re excited to share our February Update with you! We’ll be covering shipping timelines, logistics in the US, updates on Pods, firmware, improvements to the Pod and cultivation programs, and enhancements to the user experience.
Shipping Updates
EU and Europe
This year, we have made significant improvements in the quality of our growing Pods. Since our launch, we have gained invaluable experience in Pod manufacturing and refined our approach to creating them. We’ve improved the ingredients in the Pods and decided to produce them in smaller batches, resulting in fresher Pods, better success rates, and larger yields. Additionally, we’ve introduced our Happy Growing Guarantee, which means that if your Pod doesn’t yield successfully despite following our instructions, you’ll receive a replacement Pod free of charge.
We’re happy to announce that all orders from Europe are now ready to be shipped. If you’ve ordered to a European address and are still waiting for your Shrooly and Pods to be shipped, please feel free to reach out to us. We’ll be happy to guide you through the final steps necessary before shipping your order.
United States
We’re excited to announce that after months of preparation, we’re finally ready to begin shipping orders to those who have placed them from the United States!
If you’ve been following our updates, you might already know that we have chosen to gradually begin shipping to the US after Europe, in order to maintain the quality of products and services that you deserve, and that we have always strived for. We’re excited to announce that after successfully shipping our European orders, we’ve now secured reliable logistics and Pod manufacturing partners in the US as well. The gradual approach we took with Europe has been a success, and we’ll continue with the same method in the United States to ensure that the quality of our services meets your high expectations.
This year, our team has been focused on selecting and onboarding a logistics partner with the relevant experience to meet our needs and ensure a smooth process for fulfilling your orders. We’re happy to share that we’ve successfully chosen a partner with years of proven, industry-specific experience. To ensure you have the best experience, we have already fulfilled some orders during a testing period without any issues.
We’re also thrilled to announce that the first batch of Shrooly devices safely arrived at our logistics partner’s warehouse in early February. Since mushroom Pods require a cooler environment, we’ve installed a refrigerated container to store them, ensuring they stay fresh and ready for cultivation in your Shrooly.
We’re excited to announce that deliveries will begin in the United States on February 27, 2025.
Canada, Australia, and Other Regions
While we are fully aware of how eager customers from Canada, Australia, and other regions are to receive their orders and start growing their own mushrooms with Shrooly, we require additional time to set up deliveries to these locations. After a successful launch in Europe and now launching in the United States, we need to responsibly ramp up our shipping operations to ensure you receive the quality of service and products you deserve. We understand the impact this delay has on you, however this additional time allows us to uphold our most important commitment: providing all of our backers and customers with the best possible experience, from order delivery to many successful harvests.
Pod, Cultivation, and Product Updates
New Mushroom Species in Stock
Initially, we launched with four species in stock: Yellow Oyster, Pink Oyster, Lion’s Mane, and Reishi, and in November, we introduced a fifth species: Elm Oyster.
Now, we’re excited to announce the expansion of our Pod selection with a new species:
Pioppino
Pioppino mushrooms, also known as Pholiota aegerita, are known for their delicate flavor and meaty texture. They have a rich, earthy taste with slightly sweet undertones, making them a popular choice for adding depth to various dishes. Pioppino mushrooms are often used in Italian cuisine, especially in pasta, risotto, or as a topping for pizzas. They’re also appreciated for their versatility in both savory and vegetarian dishes, as they can absorb sauces well while maintaining their firm texture. These mushrooms grow in clusters and have long, slender stems with small, brownish caps. They’re often grown on logs or sawdust, making them a popular option for home mushroom cultivation.

Filling out this form helps us fine-tune our Pods and cultivation programs. More Silent Cultivation Program for Pioppino
In November, we updated our cultivation programs for all oyster varieties in our selection, and in January, we also updated the programs for Lion’s Mane and Reishi to ensure your Shrooly operates more quietly during the growing process.
Your feedback on these quieter cultivation programs has been fantastic, and based on this, we’re now introducing a silent cultivation program for Pioppino. If you’re starting your cultivation through the Shrooly app, the updated program will start automatically. However, if you’re starting from your Shrooly device, you’ll need to upgrade its firmware. We expect to release this firmware update in the upcoming weeks, ensuring all Shrooly users have access to this new, updated cultivation program.
Water Level Display Improvements
The water level display feature has been improved and is now a standard feature after being in beta since our launch. In the latest firmware update, the water level is shown in a clearer, more consistent way across both the Shrooly app and your Shrooly’s display.
Now, when the water level is sufficiently high, both the app and Shrooly display will show ‘OK.’ When the water level is low, it will change to ‘Refill.’
This improvement will help you maintain the optimal water level in the tank, ensuring you always know exactly when to refill before the device runs out of water.
User Experience Improvements
In January, the Customer Experience and Marketing teams focused on enhancing your overall experience with our products and services.
Providing More Information During the Growing Process
Since our launch in the summer of 2024, you’ve shared invaluable feedback on what you’d like to see in the Shrooly app and Help Center to improve your mushroom-growing success. In response, we’ve focused on providing even more information throughout the cultivation process. We’ve set up automated messages that will guide you, offering all the necessary information for a successful cultivation and ensuring that you always know what to expect at each step of the mushroom-growing process.
Pod Claiming Experience
We’ve continued to fine-tune our Pod claiming system to make the experience as smooth as possible when redeeming your pre-paid Pod Credits and exchanging them for actual growing Pods. We’ve revamped the website interface, built more reliable backend services, and improved the information about the mushrooms and Pods available, ensuring you can make an informed decision when selecting the next species you’d like to grow. While we know the process isn’t perfect yet, we remain dedicated to making the experience as smooth as possible and will continue to focus on improving it.
Membership Program
We’re also working on a membership program where customers can subscribe to a recurring monthly membership. This program offers several benefits, including a free first Pod, free shipping on recurring orders, and additional free consumable items such as the HEPA filter and humidifier wick. While the program has already launched in Europe, we’re still fine-tuning the details to ensure a smooth experience and that the membership lives up to your expectations—just like growing mushrooms with your Shrooly. We also plan to make this program available to customers in the United States once shipping begins on Thursday, February 27.
